Manbet
Institute of Human Becoming
What shapes who we are? What do we carry with us from the places we have lived, the times we have lived through, and the worlds we have inherited? How do family, culture, memory, the body, and the stories passed down to us become part of our identity? And what happens to us when the world around us changes?
MANBET begins with a simple premise: the psyche does not develop in isolation. We are individuals, but we are deeply shaped by the worlds we inhabit. Our bodies carry history, language carries culture, and our relationships, places, and periods of change leave traces in how we love, fear, belong, understand ourselves, and imagine what is possible.
MANBET inhabits the space where psychology meets culture, the individual meets the world, and the past meets who we are becoming. Through research, psychological practice, cultural projects, and dialogue, we explore these intersections and ask new questions about what it means to be human in a changing world.
Perhaps understanding how we became who we are can help us imagine who we can be.
