A Different Way of Parenting

At MANBET, parenting begins with understanding the child—not simply managing behavior. A child’s emotions and behavior develop within relationships, temperament, developmental needs, family life, and the larger environment in which they are growing.

We work with parents of children and adolescents to understand what may lie beneath difficult behaviors and to develop an approach that fits the particular child and family. Rather than relying on one parenting formula, we draw from attachment, developmental and relational psychology while considering the child as a whole.

Parenting also brings us into contact with our own histories. The ways we respond to our children are often shaped by how we ourselves were raised, what we received, and what we may still carry. Part of the work is helping parents recognize these patterns so they can respond to the child with greater awareness.
