Yasser Moalla

Director of clinical practice

Moalla has over twenty years of experience in psychotherapy across humanitarian organizations, psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. He established his practice in Damascus in 2007 and later practiced for seven years in Beirut, working with displaced Syrians and people from diverse cultural backgrounds. He currently practices in Washington, D.C., and online internationally.

His clinical work is primarily grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, within an integrative approach that also draws on cognitive behavioral and other psychological traditions. His work considers psychological life in relation to the body, everyday life, and the broader social and cultural context.

Alongside his clinical practice, Moalla has extensive experience in training and supervision, including mental health training, training of trainers, psychological first aid, and the supervision of early-career therapists.

At MANBET, Moalla oversees psychological practice, therapist training, and clinical supervision, and contributes to the development of the Institute’s clinical standards in line with MANBET’s integrative approach.
